Excellent article. I have been struggling with too many social calls for some time now which just waste my time. I think that 'becoming unavailable' is the best technique I have come across so far. It does not help to be a people pleaser because in the end, you end up stressed when you don't complete tasks or your life goals. Will definitely try to become more like Jesus....thanks for the advice

Thanks for this. You have some very helpful suggestions.

Personally, I also find it helpful with regard to time management to choose to do some types of homework (like working on papers or translating) while listening to baseball or hockey games on the radio. This helps me stay focused on my work while having something to motivate me to stay where I am and work. (This may not work for everyone, and may not work for every type of homework. For example, I have a very difficult time reading with the radio on.)

I read once that the average person is interrupted every 15 minutes at work. It takes 20 minutes for the average person to get back into the "zone."

So, studies have shown that your advice is good.
